WOS 2022 Checklist of Washington Birds

The Washington Bird Records Committee considers the natural occurrence of the following birds to be adequately documented by specimens, photographs, sound recordings, and written reports. The Washington State Checklist includes 522 species total, including 510 species fully accredited (supported by specimen, photograph, or recording) and 12 species which are sight-only records (supported only by written documentation). Species supported by sight-only documentation are indicated on the list by (s). Introduced species are indicated by (I). Five species have not been documented in the state during the past 50 years. These species have the year of the most recent record in parentheses.
